Taking photos was once a casual activity I made part of my travels. I used my phone camera to capture what new and different things I saw. I took my first DSLR with me overseas, and I discovered that I could create unique, arresting images that told stories and that showcased the overlooked beauty of the world. I saw that there was something to this, so I pursued making photography my profession. I now know and believe it is a calling. With photography, I believe it is my duty to preserve the beauty and integrity of a broken world, to build something, and to pass that along to coming generations.
